We are delighted to announce that our new charity of the year is Help the Hospices, the leading charity supporting hospice and palliative care throughout the UK.
Help the Hospices provides a wide variety of services to hospices and the people who work in them, including training and development, informative and practical resources for hospice staff, grants and information services. They also play a key role in influencing government policy and providing a collective voice for all 217 independent hospices across the UK.
The charity was chosen following consultation with our partners and employees, who will work collectively across the firm’s four offices in Birmingham, Leeds, London and Manchester to raise funds and awareness.
Each of the four offices have been twinned with a local hospice in their area so that fundraising and volunteering support can benefit each local community. The partnered hospices are: Acorns Selly Oak (Birmingham); St. Gemma’s Hospice (Leeds); St. Joseph’s Hospice (London); and St. Ann’s Hospice (Manchester).
One in three people know of someone who has benefitted from hospice care so it is absolutely critical that Help the Hospices receives the funding it needs to support terminally ill patients and their families.
To this end, the whole firm supports the Charity of the Year programme and a packed schedule of innovative fundraising activities has already been designed to fully champion Help the Hospices’ aim to improve end of life care throughout the UK.
