Apprentice event raises funds for hospice
Two teams raised cash and prize donations to the tune of £10,400 after staging their own version of the hit BBC TV series, The Apprentice. St Ann’s Hospice will use the money to provide free care for patients with life-limiting illnesses at their three sites in Greater Manchester. Victory in the fund-raising contest went to Team Giving, who made £5,600, beating the opposition by £800. A dress down day and calling every restaurant, bar, gym, golf course, hairdresser and shop they could think of proved a success for the team led by litigation partner Claire Graham, under the watchful eye of Mark ‘Nick Hewitt’ Barker.

The lowpoint was being lost on Scafell Pike at 3.30am and trying to navigate by torchlight in the rain. Luckily we didn't lose too much time in the process. Unfortunately every peak was in cloud so we could only imagine the beauty of sunset from the top of Ben Nevis and sunrise on Scafell Pike!"
