The Manchester office of law firm, Cobbetts, has advised charity Disabled Living in acquiring a new head office and Disabled Living Centre at Wardley Industrial Estate in Worsley. The centre was officially opened on 14 December by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The new headquarters, owned by Salford City Council, will be one of the largest of the UK network of Disabled Living Centres, providing office space and facilities for disabled persons.
The newly refurbished property will be a ‘Centre of Excellence for Assistive Technology,’ in the North West and consists of a demonstration showroom, training suit, assessment rooms and will have an on-site retail facility.
The centre is located north west of Manchester City Centre and is in close proximity to the M60 and A580 intersection.
Angela Bhaseen, director of the Manchester office of Cobbetts, commented: “We are delighted to have worked closely with Disabled Living to provide legal services which helped secure the lease on these premises. The property will enable the organisation to conduct all of their services sufficiently, supporting disabled adults, children and elderly people in improving their quality of life. I was one of a selected few to receive an invite to the opening of the centre from the chief executive of Disabled Living and had the pleasure of meeting Sir Alex Ferguson!”
