Cobbetts’ Manchester corporate team has advised Stockport-based training and consulting firm, General Physics UK Limited (“General Physics”), on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of blended learning provider, Marton House plc (“Marton House”).

General Physics is the UK subsidiary of the global performance improvement company, General Physics Corporation (NYSE: GPX), and provides services including technical training and documentation, training administration outsourcing, custom sales and product training, coaching and mentoring, and e-learning solutions.

Bournemouth-based Marton House, which had a turnover in excess of £2.7 million in 2009, provides blended learning solutions including the creation of bespoke e-learning training material integrated with a proprietary learning management system.
 
Corporate partner, Ian Riggs, led the deal team for Cobbetts, supported by solicitor, Sinead Ormerod. Riggs said: “General Physics is growing to meet global demand and, in Marton House, it has acquired a company that will boost its service offering to existing multinational clients and allow the business to penetrate new target sectors.”

Cobbetts also advised General Physics on its acquisition of Bath-based Milsom Industrial Designs in October 2009.
