The Manchester-based corporate practice at Cobbetts has advised kitchen appliances manufacturer, Appliance365, on the sale of its small domestic appliance division and order book to the UK’s largest independent product sourcing and design business for hard goods, Ultimate Products.

The deal sees chief executive of Warrington-based Appliance365, Guy Weaver, join Ultimate as sales director of its small domestic appliance division.  

Appliance365’s small domestic appliance division manufactures and supplies a wide range of appliances including kettles, toasters, slow cookers and food processors to major retailers. The company markets its goods under celebrity brands Rachel Allen, Rosemary Conley and Oz Clarke, as well as in-house brands, including Indulgence.  

Oldham-based Ultimate designs and manufactures hard goods for major retailers, having developed its own highly successful brands including Inspire and Beldray. The company, which has an approximate turnover of £80m, also has a number of licensed brands including Anthony Worrall Thompson, Gino D’Acampo, Disney and Henleys.
 
Cobbetts provided legal advice to Appliance365. Corporate partner, Ian Riggs, led the deal team for the firm, supported by solicitor, Jonathan Gillow.

Riggs said: “Ultimate’s purchase of Appliance365’s small domestic appliance division will further strengthen its existing offering in this market. The sale will allow Appliance365 to focus on its profitable consultancy and major kitchen appliance Brands including Cuisina, Qudos and Homark, under the leadership of managing director, Peter Brazier.”
