| | Cobbetts makes senior banking appointment Jul 8 2008 |
| | Cobbetts has further strengthened its banking capabilities with the appointment of Euan McConnell as a director (in its Manchester office). McConnell joins from Lupton Fawcett in Leeds, where he advised financial institutions and corporate clients on a wide range of corporate finance and banking transactions. At Cobbetts, he joins an established and highly regarded banking team, and will be advising on acquisition finance, asset finance, property investment and development finance transactions. Commenting on his appointment, McConnell said: “I am thrilled to be joining Cobbetts’ banking team, and look forward to developing new relationships with banks and funders across the north and throughout the UK as a whole. I believe my transactional experience will prove beneficial to both lenders and borrowers in getting deals done, as I understand the issues relevant to both sides.” Paul Brown, national head of banking at Cobbetts, added: "We are delighted to welcome Euan to the team. His experience in corporate and banking deals will significantly strengthen our banking capabilities, and his technical knowledge and transactional skills will enhance our ability to respond to the increasing demands of both our financial services and corporate clients." McConnell joins a team that acts for most first and second tier lenders and is on the panels of Lloyds TSB and National Australia Group, amongst others. He will also be working alongside Andrew Dunn and Darren Hamer, who are leading the refocused real estate finance team.
