The corporate team at Cobbetts has advised telecoms and data services company, Maintel Holdings plc, on its £2.83 million acquisition of specialist UK mobile telecoms provider and contract re-seller, Totility.
The deal, which comprises a further consideration of up to £4 million dependent on Totility’s performance in the 12 months post-acquisition, will enable Maintel to tap into Totility’s impressive client base that includes Vodafone and O2.
In the financial year to March 31 2011, Totility made a pretax profit of £1 million on revenues of £2.3 million.
Partner Harender Branch, who joined the firm in March 2011, led the Cobbetts team from its London office. Solicitor Tilly Clarke and barrister Jacqueline Kendal supported Harender on the transaction.
Harender Branch said: “The telecommunications industry is becoming a focus of consolidation as large players snap up niche providers in a bid to diversify and keep up with the lightening rate of technological development. The Totility acquisition is a smart move that will help support Maintel’s strategy and ambition to offer mobile services to its customers.”
