Managing Partner of CIC

Tarek is a founding partner and the existing managing partner. He heads the banking and finance, and mergers and acquisitions departments. He joined Cobbetts International Cairo after a successful career at Helmy, Hamza & Partners (member of Baker & McKenzie International Swiss Verein).

Tarek’s banking and finance background started as legal counsel for Piraeus Bank Egypt and continued throughout his career with Arab Legal Consultants, Ibrachy Law Firm and Helmy, Hamza & Partners (member of Baker & McKenzie International Swiss Verein). 

Tarek has acted on numerous diverse structured finance transactions involving negotiating and drafting syndicated long, medium and short term facilities and revolving loan agreements as well as drafting and executing security documents.  His mergers and acquisitions experience includes initial public offering services, conducting full legal due diligences, negotiating and drafting sale & purchase agreements and shareholders agreements. 

Tarek’s experience at the Egyptian public prosecutor’s office has added technical knowhow and regulatory awareness to his legal expertise. Tarek is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 2000 and is fluent in Arabic and English.
