Personal Profile

Ross Griffiths

Partner

Ross is a partner who specialises in the public sector, particularly health, local government and transport.  He has worked extensively with statutory bodies, traditional private and employee-owned businesses, and mutual, co-operative and charitable organisations.

He has experience managing projects and legal transactions, particularly those involving change in ownership and governance.  He was a part time associate of the Strategic Partnering task-force of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Prior to joining Cobbetts, Ross was a lawyer and manager in local government and public transport, latterly as a director of a large management and employee-owned bus company.  His experience of managing through legislative and structural change has enabled him to advise in a number of areas of public service going through similar change, including externalisation, privatisation, deregulation and marketisation.

He has a particular interest in the current evolution of the NHS into a system with commissioners and providers in separate parts of the health economy, and advises on contracts and joint ventures.  He regularly assists health organisations in appraising their options for the future, applying experience gained in other fields.  He is currently involved extensively in Transforming Community Services.
