We advised the owner management of £50m turnover group Auxilia Group Limited on the difficulties that it faced, and secured for the Group sales of two significant parts of its businesses.
We acted for PricewaterhouseCoopers on The Parkside Group of Companies, work which has included a summons for directions in relation to the effect of a debt assignment and legal uncertainties created by amendments to the Insolvency Set-Off Rules. A ground breaking Court ruling is expected.
We acted for KPMG as administrators of the Card World Group of Companies in Bristol and Cardiff with two warehouses and 28 retail stores.
We advised the management team of a home entertainment business to acquire from the administrators the business property and assets for £22m. This acquisition involved lengthy negotiations with the joint administrators and also the funders who enabled our clients to fund the acquisition.
We acted for two interested parties in formulating offers to acquire the business and assets and property of a supplier to major supermarkets for £5.5m. The acquisition entailed detailed negotiations with the administrators, an assessment of the business rapidly and a swift completion of the transaction which involved a number of teams within Cobbetts, namely corporate, property and employment.
