The role of the governors of an NHS foundation trust was examined.   Although the introduction of governors is perhaps the single biggest novelty in this new corporate form (a “public benefit corporation”), there is another very significant new departure in the legislation under which foundation trusts are established. 

 

The concept of “non-executive directors” has been around for a long time, and so it might be thought that the role of the non-executive directors of an NHS foundation trust would be obvious.
