The use of mobile telephones has enjoyed spectacular growth over the last decade. However, this has not been all good news and there has been an increasing concern of the dangers caused by drivers using mobile telephones whilst behind the wheel when their attention should be on the road. A number of high profile accidents have been reported in the media and the Police have been taking a more robust stance when catching up with drivers who are distracted by using a mobile telephone when driving. The government as part of its policy to reduce the number of accidents on the road has now felt the need to actand has introduced draft proposals to tighten up the law.
